A Kashmir itinerary can centre on Srinagar with a mountain stay. In Kerala, consider Munnar followed by time near Alappuzha. Ask how many hours each transfer takes and resist adding another overnight stop simply to cover more places.
For a family
Room layouts, meals and downtime matter as much as the view. Compare a houseboat with a hotel carefully: railings, sleeping arrangements and space for young children can change the experience. Keep a spare afternoon after a longer road journey.
