What you can do

• Plan prayers and tawaf around the quieter hours, usually after Fajr and late at night
• Allow a full rest day between Makkah and Madinah so the journey does not exhaust anyone
• Visit the ziyarah sites in Madinah: Quba, Qiblatain and Uhud, ideally in one morning
• Book Rawdah time through the Nusuk app in advance, as slots are issued by permit

Food to try

Both cities serve food around the clock. Try mandi and kabsa, Yemeni saltah, fresh Madinah dates, and the sweet karak and mint tea sold near the haram. Hotel buffets suit families and older travellers better than late restaurant meals.

Culture & customs

Everything moves around the five prayers, and shops close during each one. Modest dress, patience in crowds and care for older pilgrims are the whole etiquette, and ihram rules apply from the meeqat.
